Who RIX is
Behind the RIX brand stands Visir Inc., based in Richardson, Texas. The brand itself was founded in 2023 and in under three years has built a complete range of thermal and digital optics. Development and product management sit in Texas, while manufacturing takes place in China – as it does with the vast majority of thermal imaging makers on the market.
The brand's intention is fairly straightforward: to offer an image comparable with devices from a higher price bracket, but without the premium you pay for a name. In practice that means large sensors, fast lenses and rangefinders even in models where the competition at the same price usually offers none.
We added RIX to our range after comparing the specifications, prices and service terms ourselves. We do not promise more on the brand's behalf than we can back up – which is why below you will also find what we consider to be its weaker points.
What RIX does
Thermal monoculars
The POCKET, STRIDE and TITAN series. From pocket-sized units of 190 to 213 grams to devices with a built-in rangefinder out to 1 200 m. Made for observing game and wildlife.
Thermal riflescopes
The STORM, LEAP and GLINT series. Resolutions from 256×192 to 1280×1024, versions with and without a rangefinder, with ballistic calculation in the higher models.
Thermal clip-ons
The NANO N6 with a 640×512 sensor and a germanium lens. Usable as a clip-on or as a standalone monocular, remote control included.
Digital night vision
The TOURER T50 4K with a 3840×2160 sensor and a 1 500 m rangefinder. By day it works like ordinary daylight optics, at night with an illuminator.
What RIX does differently
Rangefinder built into the optic
Models carrying the letter R have the laser rangefinder integrated into the body of the device, not in an add-on module on the side. That removes both parallax and unnecessary extra weight.
Fast F0.9 optics
The LEAP and TITAN series and the GLINT G3 have a lens with an F0.9 aperture. More energy gathered means a more legible image in rain, in fog and in the heat of summer.
Continuous magnification
The LEAP series changes magnification continuously, without jumps between steps. The image does not stutter as you zoom in and it is easier to keep track of what surrounds the target.
Replaceable batteries and an app
The devices use widely available 18650 and 21700 cells, so you can sort out a spare power source anywhere. The RIX+ app adds image streaming and recording management.

POCKET – pocket monoculars
The smallest devices in the range. They fit into a jacket pocket and serve for a quick check of your surroundings.

STRIDE – light monoculars for long observation
A larger sensor and lower NETD at a weight under 210 grams.

TITAN – monoculars with a rangefinder

STORM – affordable riflescopes

What to watch out for
We would rather tell you up front than have you find out for yourself.
| Battery life on a single cell | 4 to 6 hours depending on the model, which is below the average of some competitors. If you are planning all-night outings, count on a spare 18650 or 21700 cell. |
| Confusing model naming | Designations such as L3, L3R, L3 v2, S3R or G3 are easy to mix up at first glance. The difference usually lies in the sensor, the rangefinder and the generation of the core. If you are not sure, give us a call – we will go through it together. |
| Firmware on older units | First-generation devices had firmware bugs, which the manufacturer has since eliminated. We supply units with current firmware. |
| Models being phased out | The manufacturer is gradually replacing part of the LEAP and STORM series with rangefinder versions. If a particular model interests you, check its availability with us – we may no longer be able to reorder run-out units. |
