RIX LEAP L12R – 1280x1024 thermal riflescope with rangefinder

1280x1024 sensor

Four times the image information of a standard 640 sensor. In practice this means the image tolerates digital zoom of up to 8x without falling apart, and that at distances where other devices show a bright blob, here you can make out a shape.

NETD below 15 mK and 60 Hz

Sensitivity below 15 mK is a value rarely seen in civilian thermal imaging. The 60 Hz refresh rate, instead of the usual 50 Hz, translates into a smoother image when tracking movement, when you pan after running game.

2560x2560 display

A circular AMOLED with a resolution of 2560x2560 at a 50 mm eye relief. The image feels like looking through classic optics, not at a display.

Two batteries

An internal battery plus a removable 18650 cell together give 6.5 hours of battery life - the most in the entire LEAP range. Swapping the external cell does not switch the device off.

RIX Optics is an American brand based in Texas that has focused on a single goal since 2023 - packing as much performance per euro into a device as possible. Development takes place in Texas, manufacturing in Asia, and service for Europe is based in the Czech Republic.

5-year warranty. Devices with a 384x288 sensor or higher carry an extended 5-year warranty after registration within 30 days of purchase. Models with a 256x192 sensor carry a 3-year warranty.
