Why choose RIX
RIX is a brand of Visir Inc. of Richardson, Texas, founded in 2023. Development is led by a team in Texas, while manufacturing takes place in China – as with most makers of thermal equipment.
The intention is simple: to put a large sensor and a fast lens into the device without the premium charged for a well-known name. In practice this means that for the money that buys you the basics elsewhere, here you get lower thermal sensitivity and often a built-in rangefinder as well.
Six models for observation
RIX POCKET K2
256×192 sensor, 9 mm F1.0 lens, weight 200 g. It fits into a jacket pocket and is ideal for a quick check of your surroundings and as a first step into thermal imaging.
RIX POCKET K3
384×288 sensor, 15 mm F1.0 lens, weight 213 g. The same format as the K2, but a markedly more detailed image at greater distance.
RIX STRIDE ST3 Lite
384×288 sensor, thermal sensitivity below 20 mK, only 190 g. The lightest device in the series – suited to long observation held in the hand.
RIX STRIDE ST6 Lite
640×512 sensor at a weight of 205 g. High resolution in a class that weighs considerably more elsewhere.
RIX TITAN T3 LRF
384×288 sensor, 25 mm lens with an F0.9 aperture and a laser rangefinder out to 1 200 m built directly into the body of the device.
RIX TITAN T6 LRF
640×480 sensor, 35 mm F0.9 lens, rangefinder out to 1 200 m. The most capable observation device in the range.
How to choose
