KONUS Steel Rings Quick Release are steel rings for mounting a riflescope or thermal riflescope with a 30 mm tube on a Picatinny/Weaver rail. Sold as a pair. The Italian brand KONUS (Verona) makes them from steel, not aluminium - the rings withstand the recoil of large calibres and hold zero after repeated removal.
Each ring holds the tube with four Torx screws (Torx key included), the base has a square recoil lug that engages the rail slot and prevents the mount from shifting under recoil. The quick-release lever lets you remove and refit the optic without tools - refitted to the same rail position, zero is retained; we recommend a confirmation shot.
Choosing the height: the objective diameter and rail height decide. LOW (19.3 mm from rail to tube axis) for objectives up to about 40 mm and low-mounted optics, MEDIUM (23.5 mm) for 42 – 50 mm objectives, HIGH (30 mm) for 50 – 56 mm objectives, thermal riflescopes with larger objectives or rifles with a higher comb. If unsure, send us your rifle and optic model and we will advise.
We use these rings in our own thermal riflescope installations in our workshop; they are proven in the field.
